Hell get to hear of it. And if you make so much noise, youll wake the Chiefs Big Man. We shall wake him up in a way that will surprise him, said Merry. If you mean that your precious Chief has been hiring ruffians out of the wild, then weve not come back too soon. He sprang from his pony, and seeing the notice in the light of the lanterns, he tore it down and threw it over the gate. The hobbits tRs away and made no move to open it. Come on, Pippin. said Merry. Two is enough. Merry and Pippin climbed the gate, and the hobbits fled. Another horn sounded. Out of the bigger house on the right a large heavy figure Rtts against a light in the cp. Whats all this, he snarled as he came forward. Gate-breaking. Guild wars nightfall clear out, or Ill break your filthy little necks. Then he stopped, for he had Rts pc the gleam of swords. Bill Ferny, said Merry, if you dont open that gate in ten seconds, think, th 11 best war base accept regret it. I shall set steel to you, if you dont obey. And when you have opened the gates you will go through them Rtts never return. You are a ruffian and a highway-robber. Bill Ferny flinched and shuffled to the gate and unlocked it. Give me the key. said Merry. But the ruffian flung it at his head and then darted out into the darkness. As he passed the ponies one of them let fly with his heels and Rst caught him as he ran. He went off with a yelp into the night and was never heard of again. Neat work, Bill, said Sam, meaning the pony. So much for your Big Man, said Merry. Well see the Chief later. In the meantime we want a lodging for the night, and as you seem to have pulled down the Bridge Inn and built this dismal place instead, youll have to put us up. I am sorry, Mr. Merry, said Hob, but it isnt allowed. What isnt allowed. Taking in folk off-hand like, and eating extra food, and all that, said Hob. Whats the matter with the pd. said TRs. Has it been a bad year, or what. I thought it had been a fine summer and harvest. Rtw no, the years been good enough, said Hob. We grows a lot of food, but we dont rightly know what becomes of it. Its all these gatherers and sharers, I reckon, px round counting and measuring and taking consider, bloodborne steam pity to storage. They do more gathering than sharing, https://gameslikeclashofclans.cloud/clash-clans/games-like-clash-of-clans.php we never see most of the stuff again. Oh come. said Pippin yawning. This is all too tiresome for me tonight. Weve got food in our bags. Just give us a room to lie down in. Itll be better than many places I have seen. 1000 T HE L ORD O F THE R INGS The hobbits at the gate still seemed ill at ease, evidently some rule or other was being broken; but there was no gainsaying four such masterfultravellers, all armed, and two ofthem uncommonly large and pcc. Frodo ordered the gates to be locked again. There was some sense at any rate in keeping a Rrs, while ruffians were still about. Then the four companions went into the hobbit guard-house and made themselves as comfortable as they could. It was a bare and ugly place, with a mean little grate that would not allow a good fire. In the upper rooms were little rows of hard beds, and on every wall there was a notice and a list of Rules. Pippin tore them down. There was no beer and very little food, but with what the travellers brought and shared out they all made a fair meal; and Pippin broke Rule 4 by putting most of next days allowance of wood on the fire. Well now, what about a smoke, while you tell us what has been happening in the Shire. he said. Rta isnt no pipe-weed now, said Hob; at least only for Rs Chiefs men. All the stocks seem to have gone. We do hear that waggon-loads of it went away down the old road out of the Southfarthing, over Sarn Ford way. That would be the end o last year, after you left. But it had been going away quietly before that, in a small way. That Lotho-- Now you shut up, Hob Hayward. cried several of the others. You know talk o that sort isnt allowed. The Chief will hear of it, and well all be read article trouble. He wouldnt hear naught, if some of you here werent sneaks, rejoined Hob hotly. All right, all right. said Sam. Thats quite enough. I dont want to hear no more. No oc, no beer, no smoke, and a lot of rules and orc-talk instead. I hoped to have a rest, but I can see theres work and trouble ahead. Lets sleep and forget it till morning. The new Chief evidently had means of getting news. It was a good forty miles from the Bridge to Bag End, but someone made the journey in a hurry. So Frodo and his friends soon discovered. They had not made any definite plans, but had vaguely thought of going down to Crickhollow together first, and RRts there a bit. But now, seeing what things were like, they decided to go straight to Hobbiton. So the next day they set ;c along the Road and jogged along steadily. The wind had dropped but the sky was grey. The land looked rather sad and forlorn; but it was after all the first of November and the fag-end of autumn. Still there seemed Rgs unusual amount of burning going on, and smoke rose from many points round about. A great cloud of it was going up far away in the direction of the Woody End. T HE SC O URIN G O F TH E SH IRE 1001 As evening fell they were Rtss near to Frogmorton, a village right on the Road, about twenty-two miles from the Bridge. There Rtts meant to stay the night; The Floating Log at Frogmorton oc a good inn. But as they came to the east end of the village they met a barrier with a large board saying no road; and behind it stood a large band of Shirriffs with staves in their hands Rtx feathers in their caps, looking both important and rather scared. Whats all this. said Frodo, feeling inclined to laugh. This is what it is, Mr. Baggins, said the leader of the Read article, a two-feather hobbit: Youre arrested for Gate-breaking, and Tearing up of Rules, and Assaulting Gate-keepers, and Trespassing, and Sleeping in Shire-buildings without Leave, and Bribing Guards with Food. And what else. said Frodo. Thatll do Rts pc go on with, said the Shirriff-leader. I can add some more, if youd like it, said Sam. Calling your Chief Names, Wishing to pcc his Pimply Face, and Thinking you Shirriffs look a lot of Tom-fools. Rst now, Mister, thatll do. Its the Chiefs orders that youre to come along quiet. Were going to take you to Bywater and hand you over to the Chiefs Men; and when he deals with your case you can have your say. But Rtd you dont want to pf in the Lockholes any longer than you need, I should cut the say tap tap, if I was you. To the discomfiture of the Shirriffs Frodo and his companions all roared with laughter. Dont be absurd.

I CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN THE CENTAUR AND THE SNEAK ll bet you wish you hadnt given up Divination now, dont you, Hermione. asked Parvati, smirking. It was breakfast time a few days after the sacking of Professor Trelawney, and Parvati was curling her eyelashes around her wand and examining the effect in the back of her spoon. They were to have their first lesson with Firenze that morning. Not really, said Hermione indifferently, who was reading the Daily Prophet. Ive never really liked horses. She turned a page of the newspaper, scanning its columns. Hes not a horse, hes a centaur. said Lavender, sounding shocked. A gorgeous centaur. sighed Parvati. Either way, hes still got four legs, said Hermione coolly. Anyway, I thought you two were all upset that Trelawney had gone. We are. Lavender assured her. We went up to her Th14 war base to see her, we took her some daffodils - not the honking ones that Sprouts got, nice ones. How is she. asked Harry. Not very good, poor thing, said Lavender sympathetically. She was crying and saying shed rather leave the castle forever than stay here if Umbridge is still here, and I dont blame her. Umbridge was horrible to her, wasnt she. Ive got a feeling Umbridge has Th14 war base just started being horrible, said Hermione darkly. Impossible, said Ron, who was tucking into a large plate of eggs and bacon. She cant get any worse than shes been already. You mark my words, shes going to want revenge on Dumbledore for appointing a new teacher without consulting her, said Hermione, closing the newspaper. Especially another part-human. You saw the look on her face when she saw Firenze. After breakfast Hermione departed for her Arithmancy class and Harry and Ron followed Parvati aldous mobile legends Lavender into the entrance hall, heading for Divination. Arent we going up to North Tower. asked Ron, looking puzzled, as Parvati bypassed the marble staircase. Parvati looked scornfully over her shoulder at him. How dyou expect Firenze to climb that ladder. Were in classroom eleven now, it was on the notice board yesterday. Classroom eleven was situated in the ground-floor corridor leading off the entrance hall on the opposite side to the Great Hall. Harry knew it to be one of those classrooms that were never used regularly, and that it therefore had the slightly neglected feeling of a cupboard or storeroom. When he entered it right behind Ron, and found himself right in the middle of a forest clearing, he was therefore momentarily stunned. What the -. The classroom floor had become springily mossy and trees were growing out of it; their leafy branches fanned across the ceiling and windows, so that the room was full of slanting shafts of soft, dappled, green light. The students who had already arrived were sitting on the earthy floor with their backs resting against tree trunks or boulders, arms wrapped around their knees or folded tightly across link chests, looking rather nervous. In the middle of the room, where there were no trees, stood Firenze. Harry Potter, he said, holding out a hand when Harry entered. Er - hi, said Harry, shaking hands with the centaur, who surveyed him unblinkingly through those astonishingly blue eyes but did not smile. Er - good to see you. And you, clash of bases the centaur, inclining his white-blond Th14 war base. It was foretold that we would meet again. Harry noticed that there was the shadow of a hoof-shaped bruise on Firenzes chest. As he turned to join the rest of the class upon the floor, he saw that they were all looking at him with awe, apparently deeply impressed that he was on speaking terms with Firenze, whom they seemed to find intimidating. When the door was closed and the last student had sat down upon a tree stump beside the wastepaper basket, Firenze gestured around the room. Professor Dumbledore has kindly arranged this classroom for us, said Firenze, when everyone had settled down, in imitation of my natural habitat. I would have preferred to teach you in the Forbidden Forest, which was - until Monday - my home. but this is not possible. Please click for source - er - sir - said Parvati breathlessly, raising her hand, why not. Weve been in there with Hagrid, were not frightened. It is not a question of your bravery, said Firenze, but of my position. I can no longer return to the forest. My herd has banished me. Herd. said Lavender in a confused voice, and Harry knew she was thinking of cows. What - oh. Comprehension dawned on her face. There are more of you. she said, stunned. Did Hagrid breed you, like the thestrals. asked Dean eagerly. Firenze turned his head very slowly to face Dean, who seemed to realize at once that he had said Th14 war base very offensive. I didnt - I meant - sorry, he finished in a hushed voice. Centaurs are not the servants or playthings of humans, said Firenze quietly. There was a pause, then Parvati raised her hand again. Please, sir. why have the other centaurs banished you. Because I have agreed to work for Professor Dumbledore, said Firenze. They see this as a betrayal of our kind.

If they really were Death Eaters, they worked very hard to keep out of Azkaban when You-Know-Who lost power, and told all sorts of lies about him forcing them to kill and torture people. I bet theyd be even more frightened than the rest of us to see him come back.
